A low pH and moisturizing treatment shampoo for dry hair and scalp.
This organic scalp-friendly treatment shampoo has a pH of 4.5, a gentle, non-stripping level for protecting sensitive scalp and hair. Formulated with organic barley extract as the main ingredient, it promotes healthy scalp and hair growth. A blend of fermented seeds: barley, turmeric, sesame, oat, and black bean, providing a boost of antioxidants and enriching the hair, while organic aloe vera extract deeply soothes and moisturizes. It uses a gentle, non-ionic (less foamy but less skin-irritating) surfactant derived from coconut to replace anionic and alkaline surfactants that increase the friction between the hairs, leading to damaged and frizzy hair.
Salt is used as a natural thickening agent, but its essential minerals also help de-grease excess oils in hair and scalp, relieve itching and other scalp issues, including dandruff. It softens, hydrates, protects, and repairs damaged hair as well. A naturally-derived PHA, gluconolactone, balances the pH close to the natural hair and scalp acidity and gently sloughs away dead skin cells, debris, and scalp buildups to prevent dandruff and improve scalp hair density.
This formula naturally softens, moisturizes, detangles, and adds shines to the hair.
Apply a quarter-sized amount onto wet hair and then work into your roots and massage into scalp, then thoroughly rinse with lukewarm water. For best results, follow with moisturizing treatment or mask.
Human hair and scalp have a pH between 4.5 and 5.5. This natural hair acidity prevents microbial growth in the hair and scalp and keeps the cuticle healthy and resilient. Alkaline shampoo strips natural oils and sebums, protecting the scalp and hair, leading to overproduction of sebum and oils to compensate for the loss, making your hair get oily and dirty quicker. Moreover, alkaline environments induce hair cuticles to open, causing dry, itchy, and flaky scalp. Alkaline pH can also increase the hair's negative electrical charge, which increases the friction between hair, leading to cuticle damage and fiber breakage. Gentle, non-stripping, acidic-balanced shampoo benefits natural hair by reducing frizz and dryness, preventing breakage, and tangling while keeping the cuticle sealed to retain proper moisture and balance. Maintaining the hair's natural balance can also keep your hair looking cleaner for a longer time.

I have to use this shampoo almost exclusively or my scalp isn't right. The Organic Seeds shampoo calms itching, reduces scalp irritation and minimizes hair loss. I tried the oily and dry versions and for me, the one for dry scalp is best to restore balance.
Organic Seeds Shampoo for Dry Scalp | Refill
This shampoo leaves hair soft and fragrant--bought the pump, but it didn't seem to fit--no worries, easy to handle bottle. I believe the packaging shows that the products should remain fresh for 8 months after opening. I knowingly purchased another product, on sale with the expiry date clearly listed on the site at the time of my purchase. However, this Shampoo I received in the same order has an expiry date in 4 months from when I received it which was NOT listed on the site and I purchased it at full price. Use of 4 months is absolutely less than the 8 months that is stated on the product for how long it can remain open without deteriorating. I am a new customer and was quite impressed that the products on sale had the special dated listing thinking it was great transparency on the company's part, but I am quite disappointed about the length of time I will be able to use the shampoo and feel that if this was the expiry situation, it too should have been on sale and clearly listed online. The Hair Treatment I received in this same order shows an expiry at the end of November 2024, so it seems that longer shelf life than what I received is possible. I emailed Customer Service and have heard nothing in response. Was super excited to receive my order. The products had not been in stock for a while.
